Today, 2nd April, the covers come off the most important new model in Spanish car maker SEAT’s recent history with the unveiling of the all-new Ibiza five-door supermini.
The newcomer’s dramatic debut, at the firm’s Martorell HQ near Barcelona, marks the start of a major product offensive from the ambitious Spanish brand which will, over the coming months, also see the debut of further Ibiza variants, as well as striking new saloon and estate contenders in the upper medium segment.

Vibrant Spanish car maker SEAT is bringing some much-needed Latin heat to the chilly 78th Geneva International Motor Show with the unveiling of a landmark concept car.
The Martorell motor maker’s star of the show is a creation that hints clearly at the brand’s future design direction – the SportCoupé Bocanegra.

Fresh for the imminent ‘08’ plate change SEAT is giving its most potent road-going model – the muscular Leon Cupra – the option of an even more sporty look courtesy of a dramatic limited edition styling kit version.
The impressive additions to the Leon’s already lithe lines give the 240 PS, turbocharged 2.0-litre Cupra even more of the look of the race-winning SEAT Sport BTCC car, which is set to compete for top honours again this year.

SEAT is among those leading the field when it comes to producing quick, slick cars capable of delivering that most rare of motoring commodities: the genuinely exciting, genuinely ‘greener’ driving experience.
With diesel now taking upwards of 40% of the new car market, the Spanish manufacturer’s selection of sporty TDI-engined models is at the forefront of the shift towards the black pumps.
The so-called ‘drive for diesel’ – well documented by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) – is now delivering virtually one million new registrations a year, and the trend towards oil burners is continuing to gather pace.

Spanish car maker SEAT notched up another massive milestone as its 16 millionth model rolled off the production line at the firm’s modern Martorell plant, near Barcelona.
The landmark motor, a silver Leon Ecomotive equipped with a frugal 105 PS 1.9 TDI engine, is destined to be sold on the Spanish market. This ultra-clean model, which has CO2 emissions of just 119 g/km and is capable of up to 76.3 mpg on the extra urban cycle, is sister to the new Ibiza Ecomotive which arrives here in the spring.

When it comes to the haute couture topic of car colours, it seems that white is set to be the must-have shade among the beautiful people.
Never mind the outdated image of ‘three-month white’ – the time sceptical car dealers once reckoned a vehicle would sit, unloved and unsold, on their forecourt before heading off to the auctions. Today, white is being tipped as the hot hue among buyers keen to show they’re more Prada than Primark.

Energetic Iberian car maker SEAT is starting the year in bullish mood as it looks to build on another 12 months of solid sales growth in 2007.
With a host of exciting new models up its sleeve, as well as important developments to the existing line-up, SEAT is kicking off 2008 with a raft of changes to its most widely-owned model – the sporty Ibiza supermini.
Among the alterations to the familiar three- and five-door range is the arrival of the all-new, ultra-economical Ecomotive, which is already causing a stir among buyers keen to maximise their mpg while minimising their carbon footprint. At more than 74 mpg on the combined cycle, and with an official CO2 figure of just 99 g/km (even with its standard-fit air conditioning), the newcomer is leading the way in the push for greener motoring on a budget thanks to a price tag of just £10,995 RRP.
