Fresh for the imminent ‘08’ plate change SEAT is giving its most potent road-going model – the muscular Leon Cupra – the option of an even more sporty look courtesy of a dramatic limited edition styling kit version.
The impressive additions to the Leon’s already lithe lines give the 240 PS, turbocharged 2.0-litre Cupra even more of the look of the race-winning SEAT Sport BTCC car, which is set to compete for top honours again this year.

When it comes to the haute couture topic of car colours, it seems that white is set to be the must-have shade among the beautiful people.
Never mind the outdated image of ‘three-month white’ – the time sceptical car dealers once reckoned a vehicle would sit, unloved and unsold, on their forecourt before heading off to the auctions. Today, white is being tipped as the hot hue among buyers keen to show they’re more Prada than Primark.

SEAT Sport UK will field a pair of Leon TDIs for Jason Plato and Darren Turner to race in the 2008 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship, as SEAT becomes the first manufacturer to enter the series with diesel-engined cars.
Two new race-prepared Leon TDIs are being built at the team’s workshop in Northampton, and an intensive pre- season test programme will begin as soon as the first engines arrive from SEAT Sport in Spain.
SEAT Sport UK will be boosted by the data already gathered by the Barcelona-based team’s participation in the FIA World Touring Car Championship, where SEAT Sport has achieved two poles, three wins and seven podiums in just 10 races.

Racing driver Jason Plato had a lighter right foot than usual last week, when he took part in the AA/ALD Automotive MPG Marathon. Ditching his racing helmet for gentlemen’s string-backed gloves, the leading Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship driver teamed up with respected journalist Richard Yarrow to enter the event in a SEAT Leon FR TDI.The BTCC driver took part in order to highlight that driving an economical car doesn’t have to mean economising on fun. By taking the Leon FR TDI with 170 PS – the best-selling Leon variant in the UK, and a true hot hatch – Jason demonstrated exactly that, achieving an impressive result of 55.53 mpg over the two-day 329 mile course – a 17.9 % improvement on its official mpg figure.

After weeks of planning, SEAT Sport UK will enter three racing Leons for the 2007 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship finale at Thruxton on Sunday 14th October, as the team aims to win back-to-back Manufacturer titles, the Teams’ title and the Drivers’ title with Jason Plato. Alongside Jason – the 2001 Champion, who goes into the final race weekend 9 points ahead in the series – will be his regular team-mate Darren Turner and BTCC debutant Tom Coronel, the FIA World Independent Touring Car Champion.
