ŠKODA FABIA ESTATE HITS SHOWROOMS
Škoda’s new Fabia Estate is on sale from today (Thursday the 7th of February).

The compact load lugger, which costs between £9,360 and £13,775, not only represents great value for money but is also supremely practical thanks to its 1,460-litre stowage potential.
Insurance groupings that start as low as 2E for the 1.2 HTP (70bhp) Fabia Estate 1 and a whopping 60mpg combined (1.4 TDI 80bhp), should also help keep running costs to a minimum.
Škoda’s network of nearly 130 retailers is expecting big demand for the new model. Over 30,000 examples of its predecessor were sold between 2001 and 2007 and the 2008 version looks set to do even better.

ŠKODA FABIA GETS SPORTY

Friday, November 30th, 2007

071130_sko1.jpgŠkoda has unveiled a new addition to its Fabia line-up: the Sport. It will sit atop the supermini range alongside the current Fabia 3 flagship. Costing from £10,660, the Sport represents excellent value for money coupled with a more aggressive, purposeful look.

This new stance is achieved thanks to a deeper, more sculpted front spoiler, 16-inch alloy wheels, boot spoiler, a chrome exhaust pipe and rear diffuser. Buyers will also find lots of extra kit (over the Fabia 2) including: curtain airbags, sunset glass, sports seats, front fog lights and a three-spoke leather sports steering wheel. All of which adds up to £1,825 of customer value for a premium of just £940.

Prices start at £10,660 and £11,735 respectively for the 1.2 12V (70bhp) and 1.6 16V (105bhp) petrols. The diesel duo cost £12,115 for the 1.4 TDI (80bhp) and £12,795 for the larger 1.9TDI (105bhp). Insurance groupings that start as low as 3E (for the 1.2 12V) and VED bands ranging from B to D, are also certain to keep running costs down.

The first deliveries are expected at the end of January 2008. Thereafter, the Fabia Sport will do battle with the likes of the Ford Fiesta Zetec S and Vauxhall’s Corsa SXi

Head of Škoda UK, Chris Craft, said: “There’s a proven appetite among British buyers for sporty looking cars that don’t come with the added expense of a big engine. The Fabia Sport looks fantastic, but won’t break the bank when it comes to insurance premiums and fuel bills – which is particularly pertinent at the moment.”
