Land Rover North America and the Nevada Commission on Tourism announced today that this year’s Nevada Passage will serve as the national selection event for the 2008/2009 Land Rover G4 Challenge.
Twenty athletes from around the nation will travel throughout Nevada competing in driving and outdoor adventure activities designed to test teamwork and skills such as 4×4 driving, navigating, trail running, mountain biking and kayaking. The top two two-person teams from the national competition advance to the international selection event in early 2009, where one team will be selected to represent the United States in the final challenge in Asia.

Land Rover will introduce a new ‘HST’ derivative to complete the Freelander 2 range.
On-sale from March 2008, the Freelander 2 HST will be available from £31,990 on the road. Features include a Sports Styling Pack with front and rear bumper aprons, side sill mouldings and a rear roof spoiler. Other enhancements include 19 inch alloy 10-spoke wheels with shadowchrome finish, leather seat facings, privacy glass and metallic paint.

Land Rover has today announced its appointment as the Official Vehicle Partner to Snowsport GB, the British Alpine Ski Team and the British Snowboard Team.
As Official Vehicle Partner, Land Rover will provide all team members - including Britain’s number one female down hill skier, Chemmy Alcott together with Finlay Mickel and brothers Alain and Noel Baxter - with a fleet of Discovery 3s and Range Rover Sports to support them during the World Cup season.

Land Rover has achieved its third successive record sales year with 226,395 cars sold around the world in 2007. That’s an increase of 17.6% on the previous year.
It’s the first time Land Rover, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, has driven through the two hundred thousand sales barrier.
Emerging markets continued to show their potential with sales in Russia climbing 96% to 12,268, and by 143% in China to reach 6,573. There were also records in the US, Canada, Spain and Ireland among others.

The Land Rover Discovery 3 has been voted the best 4×4 of 2007 by Planet 4×4 magazine.
Fighting off competition from 36 other vehicles, the Discovery 3 proved unbeatable on practicality, packaging, off road ability and all-round dynamics, scoring 819.4 out of a possible 1000.
In fact, Land Rover swept the board with the Range Rover voted overall runner up – just 4.1% behind the Discovery 3, and Range Rover Sport and Freelander 2 both scooping class wins.
